Recently, the SARFT of China has formal approved China Radio International to establish China International Broadcasting Network (CIBN). This marks the start of the international promulgating and new media platform with 61 language–services, which is also featured as an international and all-round media.

China International Broadcasting Network, a state-run broadcasting institution, aims at global audience with multilingual services, various styles and multi-devices. It is developed on the base of fast growing Internet and mobile communication technologies. CIBN will be dominated by CRI Online which has the most language services in the world and target at a comprehensive multi-language Website cluster of online radio broadcast, online TV channels and mobile-device services.

China International Broadcasting Network will crown all kinds of new media such as online audio and video, mobile audio and video, IPTV, Internet TV and CMMB. With the principle of presenting China to the world, presenting the world to China and reporting the world to the world ,CIBN features audio and visual interaction, resources sharing and language aggregation and provides audience comprehensive information including current affairs, politics, economy, culture, sports, tourism, society and Chinese learning, thus hammering an effective communication platform to bridge China and the world.

China Radio International (CRI) is state-run media, whose task is to promulgate internationally. Currently, CRI has a staff of over 2000 members, using 61 languages for promulgation. It also owns 51 overseas sub-stations and over 30 overseas correspondent bureaus.

The launching of China International Broadcasting Network marks the new era for CRI steering to the new media, combining traditional and new media and speed up itself into a new international media.
